Sacred Medicine: Cacao & Movement with Amy Schenck and Amy Frankel.
Join us for an afternoon of divine feminine medicine and sisterhood. Open your heart with ceremonial cacao and connect with your body through non-linear movement to remember the truth of who you are: a divine, magnetic, sensually alive Woman.
We will begin with Amy Schenck guiding us in a cacao ceremony where we will enjoy a cup of organic ceremonial grade cacao together and open our hearts in community. Cacao is the main ingredient in chocolate, yet so much more. She is a healing plant medicine that has been used for thousands of years for spiritual nourishment. She is a feminine energy fruit pollinated in the darkness of the night and her growth is guided by the phases of the moon. She is almost always tended to by women, as they can best relate to her. She is a heart opener and a wise messenger. Cacao allows you to feel calm, euphoric, alert, blissful, grounded, safe, loved and loving.
With your heart open and held by the love of cacao, Amy Frankel will then guide us through a gentle, somatic movement practice to connect with our internal felt senses - the language of our body - so we can move what we are feeling. By moving from our inner landscape, we can liberate sources of tension within the body, explore sources of resistance or emotion, and open up to deeper experience of pleasure. You will be free to move as your body wishes to move, mostly on the hands and knees, guided by subtle prompts and music, and we'll conclude with stillness and rest. There is no right nor wrong way to do this practice, and there is no experience necessary. This practice is highly nourishing for the nervous system, and can help you feel a sense of calm and vitality in body, mind, and spirit.
